My 2000 Taurus stationwagon has 210k miles on it. About 8 months ago the engine light came on, but I didn't notice much wrong with the car. Then it started to idle rough at stoplights, like yours. And it would actually idle out and completely shut off. Pretty annoying and embarrasing. I took it to the shop and they ran a diagnostic telling me it was the O2 sensors. Well, after having them replaced, it still idled rough. So I took it back and had them do a full tune up (spark plugs are a pain in the *** on a taurus), replace the fuel filter, and replace some hoses in the car. They also did a full engine flush. They weren't able to get the engine light turned off, but the car did stop idleing rough. Cost me $1200 for everything. How many miles are on your car? Good luck.
