noisy valves 1965 GTO
I just purchased a 1965 GTO. It has a stock 389 ci engine. It cranks up and idles fine with just a slight ticking sound coming from the valve covers. Under normal driving the the noise increases while normal going thru the gears and gets louder as the RPM's go up. I have put a bottle of 104 octane boost in the gas tank when filling up and it makes no difference. I also added a can of STP with no change. I want to fix this before major damage is done.
