Another way would be to run the gasoline/methanol through the exhaust line to boil it, and then inject into the cylinder.. Like whitegas stoves and lamps work.

Problem with natural gas and propane and even hydrogen is they won't boil as easily at low temperatures (below 0F)

then again hydrogen pumps out a massive 110MJ per kilogram.. where as gasoline only puts out 40MJ (MegaJoules)

Then again hydrogen puts out 5kJ (kiloJoules) per liter* Where as gasoline puts out 30MJ

*Hydrogen gas @ STP
Lets note that a kilogram of hydrogen gas @ STP takes up 22kL (kiloliters) or about 5,870 gallons..

Its like your in chemistry all over again..
