Default fuel pump shut off in an accident-how to reset?

I am trying to buy a used engine from a 2000 pontiac montana from a guy who has one that was in an accident. He can get it to fire using starting fluid, but I think that maybe the accident caused the fuel pump to automatically shut down. does anyone know how to reset the fuel pump, or if this vehicle even has the safety shut-off?
Also, can anyone tell me what year the 3.4 v-6 is compatible with as far as other years. (I have a 2000 Pontiac Montana).
thanks

I don't think GM products have a safety inertia switch like Fords. Seems I remember reading that GM products have a fuel cut off safety feature that's wired in with the oil pressure sending unit. If your vehicle overturned in an accident, the loss of oil pressure would also kill the fuel pump. I don't have a clue how to go about resetting this feature unless you removed the battery cable for a few minutes and see if it resets.

Try sending The Factory Man a private message, he's retired from GM. Here is the link to his profile. Engine Care & Maintenance Forum - View Profile: The Factory Man

Hello and good day to you:

I was able to pull up a Owners Manual for this 2000 Pontiac Montana. I you go to this link and Register you can also do the same... GM Owner Center | Dashboard, Community, GM Services - Sign Up

After you do so..enter the year,make,model.....I looked over this Manual and found nothing about a Fuel Safety shut off Switch...

If you will send me an E-mail at Sterling1_54115@yahoo.com I will send it to you as a PDF attachment.

Will wait further.
