I know of no manufacturers that make an effort to break in engines at the factory. Todays engines are assembled to much tighter tolerances with superior materials that very little time is required to break them in. As far as the oil monitoring systems (used in GM vehicles) if you knew anything about them and the science that went into the system you would believe in them. It appears that you would rather hang onto 40 year old habits than recognize that times have changed. You need to come into the 21st century!
