Default Fog lights

I am looking into putting fog lights onto the truck, however I do not want to directly connect the wiring to the battery. So how would I do it?

Hello and good day:

There is Half a Dozen ways to do that...one simple way to do this is just splice the lines together run the lines to a Toggle Switch.

What he means is place a toggle switch inside your vehicle, run power to one side of the switch, then out of other side of switch to the positive wire on the fog lamps. Ground your fog lamps to the frame or battery. You will be able to turn on/off fog lamps with toggle switch.

That can be a tough one.

Check it over and see if you can find a rubber grommet somewhere in the firewall that you can run it through. Worse comes to worse, you could always drill a hole and get a grommet from the parts store. Be careful if you go that route and not drill into anything.

I had to run a wire through my firewall not long ago, only place I could find was where the steering column goes through the rubber boot at the firewall.

If you are going to wire in fog lights, use a relay, you can tap into the low beam light circuit, come back into the dash threw a switch and to ground. Power to 30, lights to 87. power from low beam to 86, 85 goes threw switch to ground.
