Oil on your plugs can be from either oil coming down the intake valve guide or from the rings. I would remove the plug and put the cylinder to TDC and put air in the cylinder and see how much air you get out the breather. you can buy a leak down tester. or put a valve in a hose off a preasure regulator. Do it on wet and dry cylinders. I mark the cap base with the cylinders I want to check then use a piece of plastic to get it to the top. That way if you get air from the intake you know you have a bad intake valve, if it is out the tailpipe it is a bad exhaust. A week or dead hole will give you oil also. If it is just out the breather then it is rings. Compare the differences, then you have more information to make your decision. Just a thought!

Try calling around your area. Some competent shop should be able to do a proper leakdown test for you.

here's the funny thing. after i cleaned then and checked the gaps, i ran them for a week. carbon on it, but no oil. so, i purchased new plugs for the heck of it, put back the old wires to see what comes up. i noticed the msd wires i bought dont really have a tight grip on the sparkplugs. i had to tighten the ends to make sure they snapped on. the stock one you can feel resistance and hear them snap on tight. going to check after a week. will let you know the outcome. thanks. Ralph

I have had good luck using Bosch Double Platinums in these type of situations and they seemed to do a good job of it. I never had any luck with the single Platinums or the Quads. Just a thought!
